Coosa bakers and canners are at it again

Fall is just around the corner and the much awaited Coosa Craft/Bake Sale, Silent Auction, and BBQ lunch is planned for Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The entire congregation gets involved in this annual building fundraiser. The crafts sold are very unique and beautifully made-never enough for the high demand. The furniture available at the silent auction is top quality made by master craftsmen. The BBQ lunch, available starting at 10 a.m., costs $7.00 per plate for chopped pork, slaw, beans, roll, homemade dessert and beverage (eat-in or carry out.) Tickets available in advance by calling the church office at (706) 745-8893.

Adult education- spiritual journey

Our Faith Journey is a series of adult education courses designed to encourage spiritual growth and development in our personal journey as well as in our journey as a congregation.

The Adult education class meets each Sunday in the Parish Hall from 9 to 10 AM. The class is open to all.

United Methodist Church adds service

First United Methodist Church of Union County announces a second worship service being added to Sunday mornings beginning October1, 2006 at 8:30 am. The

Early Riser Service will feature more congregational music during the service, as well as casual dress and casual atmosphere. Many consider Sunday afternoon a family time. Imagine taking time to worship and being a part of Sunday school and them leaving at 10:30 am to enjoy your family time. The nursery will be opened for this service. Children and youth are invited to worship with us. Kindergarten through fifth grade will receive a Children's Worship Kit as they enter into the service. We invite anyone who wnts to wordship the Lord to join us each Sunday at 8:30 am for Early Risers Service. Homecoming at Coosa UMC

All are welcome to "Come Home" to Coosa UMC on Sunday, September 24 at 10:30 AM. This year, two of the families who have been apart of Coosa UMC since its founding in 1834 will be honored. These are the Gillispie and Summerour families. If you are a descendent of those families or friends of those families, please join the congregation of Coosa UMC as these families are honored.
