S.A.F.E. Fall Fun Day on Saturday, October 7

Make your plans now to come on over to North Georgia Technical College on Saturday, October 7th, for the first annual S.A.F.E. Fall Fun Day. The day will be a combination of three different events so it will offer a great time for just about everyone!

For folks who love to ride their motorcycles, the Fall Fun Day will start with the FIFTH ANNUAL S.A.F.E. POKER RUN. Registration starts at 12 P.M. and the ride will begin at 1 P.M. Basic registration is only $15.00 with additional poker hands $10.00. Advance registration at Union County Auto/The Hog Pen includes a free Poker Run Pin! After a tour through the surrounding area and three poker stops, bikers will return to North Georgia Tech at around 4 P.M

That will be just in time for the beginning of the CHILI SUPPER, which is scheduled from 4-8 P.M. S.A.F.E. is returning to the spirit of the original chili suppers offered years ago by featuring delicious homemade food. There will be steaming bowls of chili, hot dogs, coleslaw, a variety of breads and desserts. Beverages include iced tea and coffee. Purchase your ticket in advance at one of the S.A.F.E. Thrift Stores and the cost will only be $5.00. Tickets will be $7.00 at the door until the chili is gone.

From 1-4 P.M., while the motorcyclists are out and about and before the chili supper starts, there will be loads of games and activities for children and families. The FAMILY FUN DAY will also feature face painting, a magician's show, a moonwalk, and there will be prizes for participating. This will be a great way for the family to spend a Saturday afternoon together and have lots of fun. Entry fee and unlimited play for children is $3.00 or free with the purchase of a child's chili supper ticket which is $5.00.

United Community Bank of Blairsville is providing bags for the children to use during the Family Fun portion of the day.

All proceeds from the Fall Fun Day will support S.A.F.E. programs and services as well as the Enotah Child Advocacy Center. S.A.F.E. is the State certified domestic violence and sexual assault program serving Town and Union Counties with partial funding received from the Georgia Department of H u m a n Resources.
