Ride the railroad motor cars

Come ride railroad motor cars in Mineral Bluff, Ga., on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23 and 24. Another Mineral Bluff Ride the Rails Festival will be held the week end of Sept 23 and 24, to raise additional restoration funds for the only brick depot in the tri-state area; a treasure to be appreciated by all.

With the help of Blue Ridge Motor Car operators, TriState Model Railroaders will again be hosting this event with Motor Car rides for a $9 donation by adults and a $4 donation for children 2-12. In addition there will be hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee, cotton candy, model train sales, Depot Tee shirts, free balloons for the children, a G gauge layout children can operate, motor cars on display and local vendors.

Hours are Sat: 9 to 4 and Sun 9 to 3. Motor car trips leave on the hour. Sunday will see the drawing at 2:45 p.m. for the beautiful piece of framed artwork depicting the Mineral Bluff depot that is currently displayed at the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Gift Shop in Blue Ridge. Raffle tickets go for a $1.00 donation 6 tickets for $5 , and can be obtained at the BRSR Gift Shop, and select area Banks in Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Copperhill, Murphy and Blairsville.
