Scott takes the Sugar Bowl win

Jeremy Scott Franklin, GA took his first American Sprint Car Series win at Sugar Creek Raceway Friday night in his Winged Outlaw Sprint Car winning the Tenth Annual "Sugar Bowl."

Scott took the lead from Davey Sammons on lap 22 of the 30-lap event by passing Sammons on the outside exiting turn two. Sammons held on for the runner-up slot over Josh Weller who claimed the third. Brian Smith took fourth over the current points leader Coby Adams who rounded out the top five.

Kris Brooks took sixth over Eddie Hamilton in seventh, Kent Wolters in eighth, Tim Perry in ninth and Jeff Young completing the top ten.

The Crate Motor Late Model class found Bobby Panter of Morganton back in the winner's circle. Jason Deal held on for second over Greg Ledford in third. Phillip Deal grabbed fourth over Randy Dillard in the fifth spot.

Ryan Stilwell of Copper Hill took his first Sugar Creek win of the 2006 season with a victory in the Modified Hobby division.

Floyd Self had his best finish of the season with a second over Tom Wright in third, Travis Lawson in fourth, Bo Eaton in fifth and D. J. Dills in the sixth position.

Justin Thomas of Morganton, GA kept right on winning in the Economy Hobby class. Gooch Spriggs captured second place over Junior Watner in third and Donny Price in the fourth position.

Shannon Jones of Blairsville took the Stock Mini class win over Heather Taylor in second.

This week Sugar Creek Raceway will host a full racing program along with the presentation of the points trophies for all the points winners for the 2006 racing season. The gates will open at 5 p.m. with practice at 7 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. For more information you may contact the track at (706) 632-9083.
