The Lady Panthers moved to 4-0 in the subregion this week, with a 6-1 win over the Lady Rebels of Fannin County. That victory followed a 10-0 win at Rabun and a 6-2 win at Banks.

The team is now halfway to achieving its goal of finishing a perfect 8-0 in the subregion "We have played each team once, so we have to go back through again" said Head Coach Jessica Stewart.

The Lady Panthers got off to a good start against the Lady Rebels as Jess Seabolt and Kaley Sullivan scored on a two-run single by April Harper. Harper added two more RBI with a two run homerun in the third inning. "April's homerun was a big hit," said the coach. "We hit the ball well."

Bridget Garrett and Brooklyn Swartz scored in the sixth inning, adding a pair of insurance runs. Swartz dominated on the mound, pitching all seven innings while striking out four and allowing no earned runs.

"We had a good pitching performance," said Coach Stewart. "Brooklyn doesn't get many innings but she did a good job."

Next week Union will have a rematch with Dawson. The two teams went into extra innings in their first matchup, with Union coming out on top 1-0 in the end.
