VOICES Well, not exactly For the record, there is no Exxon oil tanker, or any other oil tanker, named "Condoleeza Rice" (sic). Condoleezza Rice served on the board of directors of Chevron for ten years and Chevron, following a longstanding tradition of naming ships after members of their board of directors, named one of their oil tankers "Condoleezza Rice." Dr. Rice resigned from the Chevron board in 2001 when she was named national security advisor to President Bush and subsequently, Chevron changed the name of the ship to Altair Voyager. They did this to preclude any appearance of impropriety. Apparently it didn't work. Falcons replacements? First the Falcons stomp the Panthers, then they set their rushing record against the Bucs? Who are these guys and where are the Falcons? Perdue campaign Sonny Perdue has run a strong reelction campaign up till now, but these latest "Sonny do list" commercials are pure cheese. "Sonny do?" Sonny, don't. More dangerous than ever Robberies are bad enough but armed robberies with gunfire is taking it to a new level. I want to feel like I'm living in the quiet, peaceful mountains of northeast Georgia, not south central L.A. Path series paved by Republicans The ABC series "The Path to 911" was an absolute joke. I think Dick Cheney or Karl Rove wrote the script. Even political analysts agree that half the stuff that they have in there was added by the director to spice things up. It made Democrats look like a branch of Al-Qaeda. |
