DA Stan Gunter speaks to Lions

Lion Louise Little (left) and District Attorney Stan Gunter.
What a revelation when Stan Gunter was guest speaker at a recent Union County Lions Club meeting. Married 24 years to wife, Rita, and father of two sons and District Attorney for Enotah Judicial Curciut which included the counties of Lumpkin, White, Towns and Union, this man is a true example of dedication.

Introduced by Lion Louise Little, the very first point that he made in his power point presentation was that our Georgia State Seal has lots of symbolism, representing three branches of government, past, present and future. He also stated that the first duty of a District Attorney is to seek justice.

In addition to his duties in the Superior, Juvenile, Probate, and Magistrate courts, is involved in all criminal and civil actions and also serves on eight different committees. A very busy man, ultimately responsible and or overseeing the hiring and training of the personal that is required for the office of District Attorney to function the office of District Attorney to function properly.

There was much more that he shared with the large group of Lions that were present that evening. Atrue enlightenment of what the office of a District Attorney is all about. We might add that just a few

of his goals for this office is to have a child advocacy center, reduce case disposition time, have resources to provide more training for law enforcement, fast track domestic violence, have adequate staffing. A question and answer time followed the excellent presentation. Lions Motto: We Serve.
