James Jerry Adams Mr. James Jerry Adams, 69, of Jack Nicklaus Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Adams was born Jan. 4, 1937 in Andrews, N.C., the son of the late Frank D. Adams and the late Maybelle Hall Adams. Before his retirement, he worked as a truck driver with the Kern's Bread company for over 15 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Adams, and by his brothers, Harry, Billy, Bobby, Edwin and Leon Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of the Valley Town Baptist Church in Andrews. Surviving Mr. Adams is his loving wife of 49 years, Evelyn Hogan Adams of Blairsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Morris Mashburn of Blairsville, Kathy and Robert Adams of Canton, Ga., Terri and Charles Anderson of Blairsville; brothers, Ray Adams, Venson Adams and Kendall Adams, all of Andrews; special friends, Phillip and Anne Patton of Blairsville; grandchildren, Nicole and Brad Barnes, Daniel and Joni Colwell; great grandson, Jacob Colwell; several step grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wade Plott and Rev. David Anderson officiating. Pallbearers were Phillip Patton, Rex Patton, Mike Patton, Jack Sales, Adam Mashburn and Matthew Mashburn.Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.
