'Thanks' from OTM Committee

With our 6th Season of "Enchanted Music on the Square" now completed, the OTM Committee has a great many folks to thank for their efforts in making the Summer concert series a huge success! It takes many hours of planning, organizing and "footwork" to accomplish these musical events. Rachel Caviness booked most of the talent and also performed with several groups! Eugene Jakel worked tirelessly at transporting and helping with set-up of the sound equipment and acted as "emcee" for most of the concerts. Liz Getz performed for us again and generously hosted several of the evenings.A special thanks to Wayne Murray, who manned our t-shirt sales table all Summer with help from J.R. and Phyllis Murray. Joan and Jim Nolin and Jackie Goldman provided great food service and brought smiles to audience members who enjoyed their ice cream and hot dogs! Sound man, Ronnie Moffett, performed the daunting task of setting up, running, and taking down the sound equipment each week. A big thanks to all these wonderful folks for volunteering their time and energy to make these concerts happen! A special thanks as well, to all the terrific musicians and performers, who came from near and far to showcase their talents for our

very appreciative crowds (sometimes as many as 400 people!)

And we can't forget our wonderful mayor, Barbara Mathis, who attended many of the concerts in support of the OTM's efforts, or Joan Crothers and her Garden Club gals who made sure that each and every week the Hiawassee Town Square looked beautiful. Joan also gave the OTM's press releases front page status ! Thanks too, to the Towns County Herald for carrying our press releases so that the Community would know about the Concerts on the Square. We are not forgetting the generous support from the Towns County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Board
