The excellent music continues this week with a concert at the Brasstown Community Civic Center on Saturday, September 9. The featured group is Ducktown Station, a gifted group of pickers and vocalists who specialize in hard-driving bluegrass with soul. Whether performing bluegrass standards or some of their own original material, the tight harmonies and outstanding instrumentals come through loud and clear. Fans of Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, and IIIrd Tyme Out will feel right at home at a Ducktown Station concert. Members of the band include: Pete Dasher on dobro and vocals, Larry Guy on guitar and vocals, Lisa Jacobi on fiddle and vocals, Dennis Mixon on bass and vocals, and Jarrod Payne on banjo. Don't be surprised to see band members trade off singing lead and harmony or even swapping instruments around. These talented performers are at home with their music, and it shows.
