Barbara Jones Wheeler

Mrs. Barbara Jones Wheeler, 66, of Green Ln., Blairsville, Ga. died Friday, August 25, 2006 at her home following an extended illness.

Mr. Wheeler was born Aug. 18, 1940 in Parkin, Ark., the daughter of the late James Jones and the late Florence Harris Jones. She was raised in Ft. Meade, Fla. She retired from Cargill Industries Phosphate Mine in 1990 and moved to the mountains to be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and, also a brother who died in Vietnan, Harlan Harris. Mrs. Wheeler was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs.Wheeler are daughters and a son, Cheryl and Keith Weaver of Blairsville, George and Connie Walker of Blairsville, Rayannette Wheeler of Blairsville, Melissa Wheeler of Blairsville; brother, Harold Harris of Avon Park, Fla.; four grandchildren, Amber and Brent Laney, James Weaver, all of Blairsville, Chris and David Weaver of Michigan; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Anderson, Nicole Weaver,

A memorial service was

held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at 7 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon Henderson and Rev. Jeremy Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs.Wheeler's memory.
