Kid's Zone USA and Then and Now are welcomed in Chamber Ceremony
By KATHLEEN MCKEVITT
Kid's Zone was first opened two years ago, followed by Then and Now a year later, but according to Gaylee Gulley, co-owner with husband Rick, "we were busy opening two stores and just didn't ever have time to do the ribbon cutting ceremony until now." Both are consignment businesses that have been part of the the Blairsville Chamber of Commerce since they opened.
The couple moved to Blairsville, and took six months to decide on "a business that would benefit the community, and help keep them young." Gulley says, "we love the consignment business. It's a win/win for everyone."
Then and Now is a home furnishings business that grew out of the Kid's Zone business. "People asked for more," says Gaylee Gulley, "so we provided it. Running both is like Christmas all the time. New things come in that are wonderful and that we can sell reasonably, and we take old furniture and give it a new life."
The Gulleys want to remind people that consignment is a good way to make money and says, "a lamp, a chair, or a table that you're not using can be of great value to someone else." The couple also wants people to know that they
have children's equipment for rent, including chairs, cribs, play pens, high chairs, cribs, play pens, walkers and swings.
Kid's Zone and Then and Now are located on Old 76/ 1300 Blue Ridge Highway, Suites 2 and 3 in Blairsville. Call 706781-1696 for more information.
