VOICES McKinney similar to Bush Less than eight percent voter turnout was pathetic. I don't care if it was a runoff. This country is in the shape it is in because people don't care enough to elect anyone with half a brain. People like Cynthia McKinney and George Bush may not like each other, but I think they have one thing in common, their I.Q. Multiplying like rabbits I just saw a news clip that said studies suggest that by the year 2030, metro Atlanta's water demands will exceed its supply by 284 million gallons per day. If only the problem stopped at metro Atlanta. The world didn't reach 1 billion people until 1802. We reached 3 billion by 1961, and have been adding an extra billion every 12 or 13 years since. We are now we're at 6.5 billion. Do the math friends, the planet can't continue to support us for too long at this rate. The future looks pretty bleak. Rain, rain, go away, come again... I know we need rain, especially this year, but it would be nice if it wouldn't always do it right after I've just washed my truck. Good job, Union County Schools and parents I was very impressed with how smoothly the first week of school went. It was helpful to have the officers directing traffic and giving instruction. And the best thing: most people learned quickly how to handle things. I expected it to be weeks before people were comfortable. Will there ever be closure? Poor JonBenet. Her precious life came to a violent end, for real. And now we are reliving the nightmare because of John Mark Karr's fantasies. It seems like he only wishes he was the one that took JonBenet's life. It sure isn't adding up to the hooplah that's surrounding the story. |
