Estelle Barrett Allen

Mrs. Estelle Barrett Allen, 89, of Julius Chambers Rd., Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Gainesville, Ga., died Friday, August 18, 2006 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Allen was born July 22, 1917 in Hall County, Ga., the daughter of the late Howard Barrett and the late Lula White Barrett. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley (J.W.) Allen in 1978; son, Bobby Joe Allen in 1995. Mrs. Allen was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Allen are sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Ruenelle Allen of Blairsville, Roy and Judy M. Allen of Pendergrass; daughter, Joan A. Allen of Gainesville; grandchildren, Randy, Wesley and Mary Beth Allen, Bambi and Rodney Stone, Jill and Robert Chambers, Leyta Jordan, Mike Lance and Aleah Brown; many

other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services

were held Saturday, Aug.

19, 2006 at 11 a.m. from

the funeral home chapel

with the Rev. Fred Lodge officiating. Special music was presented by Nelson and Mildred LeCroy. Interment and graveside services followed at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville.
