Mowing accident results in fatality

A Blairsville man died T h u r s d a y , August 17, while mowing the lawn of a private home near the Grahl Gallery in Hiawassee, Ga.

Paul Vernon Smith, 48, was killed when the lawnmower he was riding flipped over on top of him. Towns County Assistant Coroner Rickie Mathis pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident.

Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville on Monday, August 21, 2006. Interment was in the Coopers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
