Georgia Mountain Writers Club

The Georgia Mountain Writers Club held its monthly meeting with guest speaker Robert E. Honea, talking about his new book 'Long Road Winding', an interesting story with a backdrop of the civil war.

Idell Shook read her poem 'Rebirth', she is in the process of putting her poems together for her second book.

Juanita Schneider read her poem 'My Neighborhood', published in the August issue of 'The Black Bear'. Juanita talked about her efforts in writing the life story of her grandmother, inviting members to attend the upcoming Genealogy Workshop in September, which is open to the public. Family history is a good resource for writing.

Christy Lynn Goings kept us up to date on the excitement she and her husband Paul share in regards to writing their life story.

Dorthea talked about submitting poems to be published.

Please feel free to visit with us at our next meeting, to just listen or join in. We are a relaxed group sharing the joy and love of writing. The next club meeting will be Wednesday, September 13th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the classroom building behind the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located on the Young Harris Hwy.
