Lorene Holbrooks

Mrs. Lorene Holbrooks, 85, of Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, August 7, 2006 at Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, Ga.

Mrs. Holbrooks was born Monday, August 16, 1920, in Union County, Ga., to the late Elbert Rich and Bonnie Jackson Rich. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Hubert "Pete" Holbrooks; son, Lloyd Holdrooks; sisters, Geneva Nicholson and Bertha Rich.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Morris of Morganton, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Katherine Holbrooks of Simpsonville, S.C.; sisters, Jimmie Kimsey and Juanita Fair, both of Blairsville; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter also survive, along with several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the

Cochran Funeral Home

with the Rev. Alton

"Cotton" Harris officiating.

Music was provided by

Michael Carroll. Interment

followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mickey Carroll, Jody Bowers, Steve Cofield, Cody Brown, Justin Foster and Glenn Lewis.
