Sandra Burton Haynes
Mrs. Sandra Burton Haynes, 63, of Blairsville, Ga., died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident while returning from a day of hiking.
Mrs. Haynes was born Monday, November 30, 1942, in Washington, Ga., to the late Thomas "T.C." Burton and Frances Edmunds Burton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville and the Mountain High Hikers. She was preceded in death by her son, David Jeffery Haynes.
Surviving Mrs. Haynes is her husband of 44 years, David Haynes of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Gaye and Pete Poisson of Cumming, Ga.; and grandchildren, Catherine, Elizabeth and David.
Mrs. Haynes attended LaGrange College and graduated from Massey Business College. She was employed by several school systems during her career, Lodge, Rev. Jim Martin and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music was provided by June Caldwell, John Sutton and Terry Hooper. Entombment followed in Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Ben Bradley, Doug Davenport, Harold Dyer, Dick Howington, George Radcliffe and Fred Woodward.
