How Does Your Garden Grow?

The current drought crisis doesn t affect Truman Barrett s garden at Rock Hill Farm in Hiawassee.He has a secret that he is willing to share that allows him to grow organic vegetables using no pesticides that are drought resistant and disease free.During our recent 3 weeks of 95 to100 degree temperatures and in light of our current State drought,Barrett stated even though drought conditions existed he did not irrigate his garden once during the drought.The plants and vegetables maintained moisture and in fact flourished with abundant produce.
Barrett believes the waste stream,organic fertilizer production and organic farming are all inter-related and it relates to everyone's lives in the aspects of cost,the environmen,. health, and over all quality of life. He began developing an alternative to commercial fertilizer out of his love for a clean environment and recycling.
He has spent fourteen years researching and developing various products produced from recycled, composted waste that normally would and does incur disposal costs upon municipalities and all fifty States.

It is this writer's belief after viewing research statistics, the physical plants and quality vegetable production that the widespread use of his method of converting natural recycled waste materials into organic fertilizer would make a huge worldwide impact on the environment, human health, and economics.
