Highland Dance Center announces Open House Schedule

Blairsville's newest dance studio has announced a full schedule of events for its Open House on Saturday, August 19.

"We will be offering free lessons throughout the day," said Angela Puleo, Studio Director. "We'll start with a clogging lesson at 10 a.m. We'll also have a ballroom lesson at noon and a buck dancing lesson at 2 p.m."

Highland Dance Center offers classes for all ages and dance levels, and the Open House will showcase activities for the entire family as well.

"We are very excited to have Kindermusik Instructor Trudy Bennett teaching classes at our location," said Puleo. "She currently teaches in Blue Ridge and Murphy, and I think it's wonderful that she will now be joining us in Blairsville."

Kindermusik is an early childhood music and movement program, which will offer classes for newborns through 3 year-olds. Bennett will have demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

"Kindermusik gives children a great foundation to begin dance classes, which we offer for ages 3 and up," said Puleo. "We also have classes for adults, as well as performance and competition opportunities for all ages."

Highland Dance Center offers Hip-Hop, Latin, Ballroom, Creative Movement, Combination Classes and Line Dance. Ballet and Jazz classes will also start soon. HDC is also home to Highland Precision Clogging - North Georgia's new headquarters for competitive clogging.

Highland Dance Center is located at 90C Blue Ridge St. across from the Blairsville Police Department. For more information, call (706) 435-7625 or visit www.precisionclogging.com.
