Salsa Music on West Main Saturday night, August 19, the sounds of latin music will be performed on the front porch of the Old Fannin County Courthouse. The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association presents .Havana SonS a latin trio . Alejandro Cespedes, percussion, Rene Herrera, piano and guitar and vocalist Llilian Herrera ,who also plays hand percussion instruments such as maracas, guiro, congas and timbales, bring the latin rhythm to life. Playing authentic music such as the Cha Cha Cha, Salsa and Guaguanco, Havana Son keeps audiences moving with the melodies of the Islands. The band starts at 6:30 pm, bring chairs and enjoy listening on the lawn. Admission is free! Those who would like to learn how to dance the Salsa come at 5 o.clock, and Rebecca Hampton,a dance instructor who has taught for the Arts Association, will be inside the Old Courtroom to teach you how... no charge!
