UCHS Softball 1st Annual Sporting Clay Tournament

High Individual score John Davis.
The 2006-2007 UCHS Fastpitch Softball team held the 1st Annual Sporting Clay tournament on July 29 at Noontootla Creek Farms course. The tournament was held as a fundraiser to help support the team for the upcoming season. We had fifteen sponsors, with sixty shooters participating. The softball team appreciates the support from each sponsor, to everyone that helped work the tournament, to Catfish Corner for providing the meal, and to Noontootla Creek farms for their help in putting the fundraiser together. First place overall team score went to the Mitch Patton Grading team with a score of 332 of a possible 400, made up of Mitch Patton, Stephen Stover, Dale Stanley, and Chad "Bubba" Spiva. Second place overall team score went to Catfish Corner with a score of 315 of a possible 400, made up of Donald Jones, Travis

Lunsford, Brad Wilson, and Justin Lance. The high individual score went to John Davis, with a score of 90 out of a possible 100. Sponsors for the fundraiser included Blue Ridge Mountain EMC, United Community Bank, Catfish Corner, Bank of Blairsville, Dale Dyer of Century 21 Foxfire Realty Group, Michael Raper Grading, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Appalachian Community Bank, Bill Holt Chevrolet, Windstream, Southern Geosystems LTD, Blue Ridge Surveying, Georgia Mountain Grinding, C. Gay McTyre Realty, and Mitch Patton Grading. We also wish to thank Scott Carter and David Miller for their financial contribution to the teams' first home game will be August 17 against North Hall. Please come out and support the team at all the home games, and support the sponsors that made this a success.
