The Bar-W Rodeo

was put on by Clay County, NC Sheriff Tony Woody and held at the Union County Saddle Club last Friday night. The event featured bareback riding, barrel racing, calf roping, team roping, bull riding and a contest in which children chase a calf with a ribbon on it's tail.
He hoists up the calf to get ready to tie it down.
The rider takes the turn in the barrel racing event.
The rider displays the flag during opening ceremonies.
The bull sends the rider flying off of its back.
The riders releases the lasso, stopping the calf in its tracks.
