Mountain Movie Review (Rated PG) Former superhero Jack (Tim Allen) is called back to work as Captain Zoom to transform an unlikely group of ragtag kids into superheroes at a private Academy. Talladega Nights (Rated PG-13) NASCAR stock car racing sensation Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a national hero because of his "win at all costs" approach. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo -"Shake" and "Bake" by their fans for their ability to finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When flamboyant French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) challenges "Shake" and "Bake" for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight Girard for the right to be known as racing's top driver. Barnyard (Rated PG) Most farm animals, like cows, chickens and pigs, make sounds like moo, cluck and oink. But on this farm, that's just for the benefit of the people around them. When the farmer isn't around, they walk on two legs, watch TV and basically, act like humans. Otis (Kevin James) is a young, carefree cow with four best friends-Pip the mouse, Peck the rooster, Freddy the ferret, and Pig, who's a pig. They love to mess around and play pranks, especially on humans. Step-Up (Rated PG-13) Everyone deserves a chance to follow their dreams, but some people only get one shot. Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore's tracks. The only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams of one day making it out of there. Nora (Jenna Dewan) is a privileged ballet dancer attending Baltimore's ultra-elite Maryland School of the Arts-and the only thing standing in the way of her obviously brilliant future is finding a great dance partner for her senior showcase. When trouble with the law lands Tyler with a community service gig at Maryland School of the Arts, he arrives as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draw Nora's attention. Now, as sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realizes he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined. Clerks II (Rated R) Ten years ago, best friends Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) were New Jersey mini-mall clerks slacking off together in their early 20s. Now, we check back to see what kind of changes have rocked their lives-in work, romance and their eternally raucous life philosophy. What we discover is that never before have so many, still done so little while having so much fun doing it. Now working in the fastfood universe at Mooby's, Dante and Randal have managed to maintain, and even hone, their in-your-face attitudes, agile skill with vulgarities and unbridled love of screwing with the customers. But they're also faced with such shocking new prospects as marriage, leaving Jersey and finding real careers. |
