Mae S. Dixon

Mrs. Mae S. Dixon, 83, of Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, July 17, 2006 in Union County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Dixon was born Wednesday, May 23, 1923 in Union County, Ga., to the late Ben Seabolt and Evia Garrett Seabolt. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, Odes Ray Dixon; and a daughter, Olean Burnette.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Jr. Duckworth of Blairsville, Jean and J.D. Crump of Griffin, Ga.; son-inlaw, Jr. Burnette of Suches, Ga.; brothers, Arvil Seabolt of Suches, Early Seabolt of Suches, Harley Seabolt of Cleveland, Ga.; sister, Martha Fortenberry of Blairsville; six grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Music was provided by Calvin Hood, Angie Kelley and Rev. Stacy Dyer. Interment followed in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dewey Cox, Steve Rhoten, Danny Stephens, Anthony Stephens, Jeff Deaver and Tim Bohannon.
