A Tribute to Music at Zion August 13

Evelyn Reed Panter will sing at Zion United Methodist Church.
Zion United Methodist Church on Hwy. 515 between Blairsville and Young Harris announces that Evelyn Reed Panter will be singing some special music and leading the congregational singing Sunday August 13th at 11:00 for a camp meeting style service. She will be accompanied by Bonnie Hayward.

Evelyn, daughter of the late Mary Lou and Luther Reed, majored in music and has been the choir director of several churches. Evelyn used to accompany her father to lead the singings at Zion UMC. She is currently a member of and tours with the Georgia Festival Chorus.

The church is in its 135th year of serving the community. The pastor, Rev. Vikki McVay invites visitors and states, "Zion has always been a place of quiet solitude where I come to commune with God and feel His presence. I have always thanked Him for the precious people who first received the vision and accepted the call to begin Zion in 1871. Evelyn's ancestors have been a part of this church; it is great to have her back with us for this special day."

After the morning service, there will be a potluck lunch followed by an old-fashioned singing from 2:00 - 4:00 under the leadership of Rev. Ken Fuller from Hiawassee. Everyone is welcome!

Feel free to call the church office or the pastor, Rev. Vikki McVay with any questions. Church office 706-379-2173; Pastor's home 706-745-3838.
