Max Cochran addresses Kiwanis Club

The theme for April for the Kiwanis Club of Blairsville has been Issues Facing the Elderly.

Max Cochran, owner of Cochran Funeral Homes, challenged the club to give the gift of pre-planning our funeral to our families. Cochran reminded us that the loss of a loved one creates considerable stress on the bereaved family. The additional burden of planning a funeral according to the deceased person's wishes can only add to stress at that time. He suggested meeting with the Funeral Director prior to death and planning the service. He further suggested that we could even make plans for the financial arrangements of the funeral in order that assets be sheltered

from seizure by care givers such as nursing homes.

Cochran is well respected in our community, and is a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Blairsville, and is a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville is dedicated to serving and supporting young people in the immediate area around Blairsville through numerous projects. The Kiwanis Club meets at the Cookie Jar Restaurant in Blairsville at 6:00pm on the first and third Mondays and at 12:00 noon on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Come join us!
