Red Hat bunch goes out again

On Tuesday, April 11, 2006 part of the "Busy Bees' Red Hat Bunch of Union County Nursing Home swarmed Mary Ann's Restaurant in Young Harris. It was a gorgeous Spring day and those attending were delighted to get out for a ride. Branches on the flowering trees were colorfully adorned by tiny blossoms and waved elegantly against a crystal blue sky. It was indeed a perfect day for an outing. The ladies who enjoyed

this outing were Liz Menschik, Mina Sylvain, Nancy Howard, Bernice Roucek, Doris Colwell, Ruby Howell, LaVon Butt, Lee Etta Warren, Lovelle Ownbey, and Johnnie Nicholson. Volunteers and staff involved included Tressie Mashburn, Audrey Hill, Rita Stephens, Lisa Harden, Martha Dixon, Loretta Petty, and Olivia Bragg. Ginny Livigni, daughter of Liz Menschik, met us there to enhance the fun. Honor member, Ella Battle and her husband

Tom also were able to participate. Mary Ann accommodated the large group by making sugar free desserts for our diabetic "BEES." Not wanting to race back to the Nuring Home, Nick DiMartino, bus driver, took us home the scenic route, with Martha Dixon as our tour guide. What a wonderful afternoon activity. The ladies will go again May 9, 2006 and then it will be the gentlemen's turn for lunch in June, just in time for Father's Day.
