The hunt is on

The annual Meeks Park Easter Egg Hunt took place last Saturday, April 15, one week after being postponed due to inclement weather.
Over 5,000 plastic eggs were filled with various goodies for the children and distributed in the park near pavilion number three. The kids wielded a variety of bags and baskets at the event, including traditional easter egg baskets, pouches resembling the easter bunny, and your garden variety plastic bag. No matter what they used, the bags and baskets were merely a means to an end of collecting treats.
The hunt featured activities for 3-year-olds all the way
up to 12year-olds, and was broken into three separate groups. Ages 3-5 went
first, followed by ages 6-8, and finally the 9-12 age group. Following the hunts, the children had time to inspect their bounty while enjoying snacks.
Sponsors for the event included the Union County Recreation Department, Union County Middle School, and United Community Bank.
