Free Look Good Feel Better Class American Cancer Society volunteers in Union County are pleased to announce that the next free class for the "Look Good Feel Better" patient service program will be held on Monday, April 24. According to local class facilitator Regina Garrett the class will begin at 1pm in the conference room of the Cancer Treatment Center adjacent to Union General Hospital on Deep South Farm Rd. in Blairsville. Mrs.Garrett is the trained volunteer who will be conducting the class to help women cancer patients who are facing the side effects of chemotherapy and rediation. The class focuses on skin care as well as ways to deal with hair loss including wigs, scarves and hats. Patients must pre-register for the class by calling 1-800ACS-2345 so that the correct skin care products will be on hand for the class session that day. The National Cosmetic, Fragrance, and Toiletry Association as well as the National Cosmetologists Association co-sponsor the class and provide each participant with an array of free products that are important in the proper care of patients facing cancer. Please call 1-800-ACS2345 to pre-register for the free Look Good Feel Better class on Monday, April 24. The program is free to any cancer patient in the tri-state area. |
